How To Install CopyTrans Studio to Enable HEIC Image Viewing on Windows – V2 Cloud

Purpose

This guide explains how to install CopyTrans Studio so users can open and view HEIC / HEIF images on Windows systems where the default Microsoft HEIF extension is not available.

Requirements

Administrator rights to install software
Access to download files from the internet

1. Download CopyTrans Studio

Step 1: Access the Download Page

Open a web browser on the VM and go to the official website:

https://copytrans.studio/
(Alternatively, search for “CopyTrans Studio download” if direct links are restricted.)

Step 2: Download the Installer

Click Download and save the installer file to the VM.

2. Install the Application

Step 1: Locate the Installer

Find the downloaded file:

CopyTransStudioSetup.exe

Step 2: Run the Installer

Double-click the file
If prompted, select Run as Administrator

Step 3: Complete Installation

Follow the installation wizard and click Install to complete setup.

3. Open HEIC / HEIF Images

Option A: Open Directly

After installation, simply double-click any .HEIC file and it will open with CopyTrans Studio.

Option B: Open Using “Open With”

If the file does not open automatically:

Right-click the .HEIC image
Select Open with
Choose CopyTrans Studio

Expected Result

View images normally on Windows
Avoid needing the Microsoft HEIF Image Extension from the Microsoft Store
