Overview
Administrators can view all users currently connected to a cloud computer and identify which user profiles are consuming the most disk space. This helps troubleshoot performance issues and manage storage more effectively.
Part 1: View Active Users
Steps
- Sign in to the cloud computer using an administrator account.
- Open Task Manager by right-clicking the taskbar and selecting Task Manager.
- If prompted, click More details.
- Select the Users tab.
- Review the list of users currently signed in to the VM, including their resource usage (CPU, Memory, Disk, and Network).
Notes
- Users marked as Disconnected are still signed in and may continue using system resources.
- Administrators can sign out disconnected or idle users from this tab if necessary.
Part 2: Identify Which User Is Using the Most Disk Space
Steps
- Open File Explorer.
- Navigate to
C:\Users. - Review the user profile folders to identify which profiles may be consuming the most space.
- To check folder size:
- Right-click the user’s folder.
- Select Properties.
- Wait for Windows to calculate the folder size.
- Repeat for other user profiles as needed to compare disk usage.
Notes
- User profile folders may contain large files in Downloads, Desktop, Documents, or AppData.
- Avoid deleting files from another user’s profile unless it has been confirmed they are no longer needed.
- For more detailed analysis, tools like TreeSize Free or WinDirStat can be used.
