Overview
Applications configured to start automatically with Windows can increase login times and reduce overall system performance. Administrators can review and disable unnecessary startup applications to improve system responsiveness.
Prerequisites
- Access to the cloud computer
- Permission to open Task Manager
Steps
- Sign in to the cloud computer.
- Right-click the Taskbar and select Task Manager.
- If prompted, click More details.
- Go to the Startup apps tab.
- Review the Startup impact column to identify applications marked as High or Medium impact.
- Select an application that is not required to start automatically.
- Click Disable.
Notes
- Disabling a startup application does not uninstall the application.
- Avoid disabling critical services such as:
- Antivirus software
- Backup agents
- Other essential business applications
- Changes take effect after the next Windows sign-in.
