Overview
The V2 client now includes a Latency Indicator feature that helps users understand the connection quality between their local device and the server hosting their Cloud PC.
This indicator provides real-time information about network latency and helps set expectations regarding overall performance and responsiveness during a session.
The feature is informational and designed to help quickly identify whether connection quality may impact the user experience.
Latency Status Meanings
The latency indicator displays a status icon along with the current connection quality.
Good

- Smooth and responsive experience
- Minimal delay between user input and server response
Fair
- Minor delays may occasionally be noticeable
- Most tasks should still function normally
Poor

Users may experience:
- Lag or delayed input
- Freezing or stuttering
- Audio/video desynchronization
- Reduced responsiveness during the session
Information Available in the Latency Indicator
Users can click the latency indicator to view additional details, including:
- Current latency value
- Server region/location
- Recommended troubleshooting steps
- Additional information about how latency can affect the session
What Affects Latency?
Latency is primarily influenced by the following factors:
Distance to the Server Region
The farther the user is from the server hosting the Cloud PC, the higher the latency may be.
ISP Routing Quality
Internet providers may route traffic inefficiently, which can increase response times.
VPN or Proxy Usage
Using a VPN or proxy can add additional routing steps and increase latency.
Wi-Fi Stability
Weak or unstable Wi-Fi connections can introduce delays and packet loss.
Network Congestion
Heavy local network usage or ISP congestion can negatively affect performance.
Recommended Best Practices
To improve latency and overall session responsiveness:
- Use a wired Ethernet connection when possible
- Avoid VPNs or proxies unless required
- Ensure the local network is stable
- Minimize heavy bandwidth usage on the same network
- Choose the closest available server region whenever possible
Additional Notes
The latency indicator is intended as a diagnostic and informational tool. While latency can significantly impact responsiveness, other factors such as local device performance, application usage, and server resource utilization may also affect the overall experience.
