Mac users can connect to their V2 Cloud Computer using either the web portal or the V2 Cloud Desktop App.
Connection Methods
Option 1: Connect Through the Web Portal
Access your Cloud PC directly from your browser:
Portal URL: https://dash.v2cloud.com
For the best experience, we recommend using Safari and ensuring the settings below are configured correctly.
Safari Configuration
Enable Clipboard Redirection
Clipboard redirection allows you to copy and paste between your Mac and Cloud PC.
- Open Safari.
- Click Safari > Settings (or Preferences).
- Select the Websites tab.
- In the left sidebar, click Clipboard.
- Locate dash.v2cloud.com in the website list.
- If listed, set the permission to Allow.
- If not listed, visit the V2 Cloud portal and attempt a copy/paste action. Safari will prompt you to allow clipboard access.
Enable Pop-Ups
Pop-ups are required for certain portal functions.
- Open Safari.
- Click Safari > Settings (or Preferences).
- Select the Websites tab.
- In the left sidebar, click Pop-up Windows.
- Locate dash.v2cloud.com.
- Set the permission to Allow.
- If the site does not appear, visit the portal first and then return to this menu.
Option 2: Connect Using the V2 Cloud Desktop App
Required Software
Before connecting through the V2 Cloud Desktop App, install the following:
- V2 Cloud Desktop App for Mac
- Microsoft Remote Desktop Beta

Configure Microsoft Remote Desktop Beta as the Default RDP Client
This configuration only needs to be completed once.
Step 1 – Install Microsoft Remote Desktop Beta
Download and install Microsoft Remote Desktop Beta using the link above.
Step 2 – Locate an RDP File
- Open the V2 Cloud Desktop App.
- Navigate to Settings.
- Select Open Default RDP Parameters.
This will open a folder containing an .rdp file.
Step 3 – Open File Information
- Right-click the .rdp file.
- Select Get Info (or press Command + I).
Step 4 – Set the Default Application
- In the Open With section, select Microsoft Remote Desktop Beta.
- If it is not displayed, click Other and browse to the application.
Step 5 – Apply to All RDP Files
- Click Change All.
- Confirm the prompt.
This ensures all future .rdp files automatically open with Microsoft Remote Desktop Beta.
Step 6 – Verify V2 Cloud App Settings
- Open the V2 Cloud Desktop App.
- Confirm that the RDP toggle located in the upper-right corner is enabled.
You are now ready to connect to your Cloud PC.
Additional Notes
Windows Password Required
When connecting through the desktop application, you may be prompted for credentials.
Use your Windows password for the Cloud PC, not your V2 Cloud portal password.
Password Synchronization
To simplify the login process, you can synchronize your V2 Cloud portal password and Windows password. Once synchronized, a single password can be used for both services.
Troubleshooting
Copy and Paste Is Not Working
- Verify Clipboard permissions are set to Allow in Safari.
- Refresh the browser session and reconnect.
Portal Windows Are Not Opening
- Confirm that pop-ups are allowed for dash.v2cloud.com.
- Reconnect and try again.
RDP Files Open with the Wrong Application
Repeat the Configure Microsoft Remote Desktop Beta as the Default RDP Client section and ensure Change All was selected.
Connection Prompts for a Password
Use the Windows credentials assigned to your Cloud PC. If you are unsure of your Windows password, contact your administrator or V2 Cloud support.
