How to Create a Golden Image/Template

This guide explains how to convert an existing V2 Cloud computer (VM) into a template (golden image). Templates allow you to quickly deploy new computers with the same configuration, applications, and settings already installed.

Requirements

• Access to the V2 Cloud dashboard

• A configured VM that will be used as the template

• Administrator permissions in the V2 Cloud environment

It is recommended to prepare the VM beforehand by installing required applications, updates, and configurations before converting it to a template.

1. Open the V2 Cloud Dashboard

Open your browser and go to:

dash.v2cloud.com

Log in with your administrator account.

2. Open the Computer Management Page

You can access the computer management page in either of the following ways:

• Click the computer name, or

• Click Actions → Manage Computer

3. Convert the Computer to a Template

1. Click on the computer name again in the management page

2. Select Convert to Template

4. Name the Template

• Enter a name for the template

• Choose a descriptive name that identifies the configuration (for example: Accounting Template, QuickBooks Template, etc.)

Click Confirm to create the template.
