Overview
Windows Event Viewer records application crashes and errors that can help identify the root cause of software issues, including faulty applications, modules, and system-level failures.
Prerequisites
- Access to the cloud computer
- Permission to open Event Viewer
Steps
- Sign in to the cloud computer.
- Press Win + R, type
eventvwr.msc, and press Enter. - Navigate to:
Windows Logs > Application - In the right-hand panel, click Filter Current Log…
- Under Event level, select:
- Error
- Critical
- Click OK.
- Review events that match the time the issue occurred.
- Double-click an event to view detailed information, including:
- Application name
- Faulting module
- Event ID

- Common application crash Event IDs include:
- 1000 – Application Error
- 1001 – Windows Error Reporting
- When contacting Support, include:
- Event ID
- Screenshot of the event details window
- Time of occurrence for faster troubleshooting
