How to Check Windows Event Viewer for Application Errors

Windows Event Viewer records application crashes and errors that can help identify the root cause of software issues, including faulty applications, modules, and system-level failures.

Prerequisites

• Access to the cloud computer
• Permission to open Event Viewer

Steps

1. Sign in to the cloud computer.
2. Press Win + R, type eventvwr.msc, and press Enter.
3. Navigate to:
   Windows Logs > Application
4. In the right-hand panel, click Filter Current Log…
5. Under Event level, select:
   • Error
   • Critical
6. Click OK.
7. Review events that match the time the issue occurred.
8. Double-click an event to view detailed information, including:
   • Application name
   • Faulting module
   • Event ID
